Margherita pizza
This Margherita pizza recipe takes tradition to the next level by swapping mozzarella for our rich and flavourful Garlic & Fine Herbs cashew cheese. The result? A plant-based masterpiece that’s creamy, herby, and utterly irresistible. One bite, and you’ll wonder why you ever needed dairy in the first place!
Ingredients:
4 rounds of pita bread
2 fresh tomatoes, sliced
1 package of Zengarry Garlic & Fine Herbs cashew cheese
1 cup of tomato sauce
½ cup of fresh basil leaves
1 cup of balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp of sugar
Preparation:
1. Place the pita bread rounds on a baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce and Zengarry Garlic & Fine Herbs cashew cheese on the pitas.
2. Spread the sliced tomatoes and the fresh basil evenly on the pitas.
3. Bake at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes, or until the pizzas are golden. Top with balsamic glaze if desired.
For the balsamic reduction: Combine vinegar and sugar in a small pot and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Boil until volume is reduced by half. Remove from heat and allow to cool and thicken. Enjoy!
